Ask Ivor

Juanita asks: "Are there any pets in the Bible?"

Matthew 15:26-27 and Mark 7:27-28 refer to dogs that eat the crumbs that fall from the table. 2 Samuel 12:3 speaks of a man with a ewe lamb that shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. The lamb grew up with the man and his children, and it was like a daughter to him.

1 Kings 10:22 refers to King Solomon's import of apes and baboons. Whether these were pets is unknown.
