Ask Ivor

a caller asks:

"How is it that it's called a Christian Bible when most of it was written by Jews and all of the philosophy, wit and wisdom of a gifted and noble people are contained therein? Isn't this a gross case of plagiarism?"

Calling something Christian doesn't make it not Jewish. At one point in history, there were no Christians who weren't Jewish.

Jewish philosophy, wit and wisdom are not only found in the Bible.

The history of religion on this planet could be seen as one long succession of plagiarisms. Then again, you can't steal spirituality.

What is gross is when a sect breaks off, and then later oppresses its mother.
